Reflection from the Class
Today's class on ethics, personal bias, and artificial intelligence (AI) has particularly challenged my notions about the ethical landscape of modern technology. Engaging in the process of ethical debating, especially on the topic of AI's benefits versus safeguards, required me to delve deeply into the ethical dilemmas that arise when balancing innovation with responsibility. This experience underscored the complexity of ethical decision-making, highlighting that there are often no clear-cut answers but rather a series of nuanced considerations that must be carefully weighed.
So, diving into ethical debates really made me see how crucial it is to look at all angles of an argument. Having to bring up and argue against different points made me face my own biases and think about viewpoints I might have brushed off before. Going through ethical dilemmas like this made me realize how sneaky biases can be in shaping our thoughts and choices, highlighting the importance of always reflecting and staying open-minded. The organized debating style showed me the importance of carefully weighing the pros and cons of AI, without leaning too much to one side.
Moving forward, I plan to apply these lessons by advocating for ethical considerations in all aspects of my work, ensuring that the pursuit of innovation does not come at the expense of ethical integrity. This experience has motivated me to be vigilant about ethical implications and to champion responsible practices in the realm of AI and beyond.
